Vadym Novinskiy: It is our duty to protect the rights and interests of those Ukrainian citizens who believe in God

The introduction of biometric documents in Ukraine is a source of great concern among the religious Ukrainians and this concern is rooted in the very nature of their faith. The faction of Opposition Bloc is driven by the will to protect interests of Ukrainian citizens who believe in God. That is why we have registered the draft bill #10071 on restoration of the right to receive passports of the old standard.

«We must protect the rights and freedoms infringed and restore the right of the people of faith to have a classical passport of the old format - the one that looks like a book and has no electronic chips», - Vadym Novinskiy, the head of faction of Opposition Bloc, stated.

The draft bill #10071 is introducing amendments to the consolidated State demographic register of Ukraine, as well as to the ID validation documents and special status documents.

«Since this issue is of great social significance it is important to resolve this conflict as soon as possible and make sure the citizens of Ukraine exercise their right to receive Ukrainian passports which in no way imposes threats to the national security», - Vadym Novinskiy, the head of the faction, pointed out. He also highlighted that collection, storage, usage and distribution of confidential data about the person without his/her consent is the direct interference of the state into his/her privacy.

According to Vadym Novinskiy, the article 22 of the Constitution of Ukraine clearly states that human rights and freedoms are guaranteed by the state and cannot be withheld. When new laws are adopted or old ones are amended no rights can be infringed or limited in any way.
