Tetiana Bakhteieva: Instead of a real reform of medicine, the authorities offer Ukrainians treatment by Kashpirovsky and Suprun’s Facebook

The “reforms” of the Ministry of Health deprive Ukrainians of the constitutional right to affordable medical care. While politicians are engaged in elections, people are forced to choose between buying bread and a paid visit to the doctor,” Tetiana Bakhteieva, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health, said during a briefing in parliament.

According to her, for a year and a half, the pseudo-reform of the Ministry of Health did not improve, but worsened the quality of life of Ukrainians. And the anti-rating of Uliana Suprun is a clear proof of this. “The money of Ukrainian taxpayers has been on the accounts of international purchasing organizations for more than three years, while there are no medicines and vaccines in Ukraine. Medical equipment in hospitals is worn by 90%. Doctors get beggarly wages and are forced to leave the country in search of a better life – more than 70 thousand doctors have already left Ukraine. Government programs for the treatment and prevention of deadly and dangerous diseases are not funded. As a result – the epidemic of measles, tuberculosis, the first place in Europe for cardiovascular diseases, pediatric and adult oncology, AIDS, HIV,” Tetiana Bakhteieva stated.

The reform of medicine in rural areas also failed. “80% of rural ambulatories and midwifery units are in emergency condition, in 71% of them there is no water supply, in 75% - there is no drainage, in 82% - there are no sanitary facilities,” the oppositionist emphasized.

The MP considers the pseudo-reform carried out by the Ministry of Healthcare as genocide of the Ukrainian people. “In fact, Ukrainians are simply deprived of the constitutional right to affordable medical care. For example, on April 1, the Ministry of Health stopped funding patients who did not sign the declaration with doctors. One third of the country is at risk of remaining without medicine - people will have to go to commercial clinics or pay state doctors from their own pockets. With this approach, the statements of the Vice Prime Minister Zubko that “the cures for the disease are not in the doctor’s first-aid kit, but in his head” are not surprised. This is a treatment by Kashpirovsky or Suprun’s Facebook, whose advice is mostly absurd. It is necessary to urgently remove the current incompetent and irresponsible team of the Ministry of Health from the power,” Tetiana Bakhteieva summarized.
