Tetiana Bakhteieva: Mines and unexploded ammunition threaten two million residents of the Donbas

Ukraine is among the countries with the largest number of victims from mines and other explosive remnants of war. Stop the war and destroy its deadly “echo” is the main task of the new authorities. MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC, member of the Parliamentary Committee on Health Care Tetiana Bakhteieva is sure of this.

“For two years, more than 56 civilians died and 158 were injured as a result of the operation of mines and unexploded ammunition in the Donbas. Unexploded mines and ammunition threaten the lives of two million people in eastern Ukraine, pose a threat to vital infrastructure, prevent freedom of movement, block access to livelihoods and restrict children’s leisure,” the MP stated.

She called unacceptable a situation when in the 21st century in the center of Europe shells and mines are torn, peaceful people die and are injured, mothers and their children cry.

“For residents of the East of Ukraine, peace is the most important desire. In the presidential elections, Ukrainians voted for the establishment of peace. Therefore, Volodymyr Zelensky and his team are simply obliged to stop the war,” Tetiana Bakhteieva stressed.
