The draft law on the free economic zone in Mykolaiv, developed by the OPPOSITION BLOC, and the implementation of the program of Oleksandr Vilkul, contribute to the development of the shipbuilding industry of Ukraine. The head of the OPPOSITION BLOC faction in the Mykolaiv City Council, Ihor Dyatlov, stated this on the “Good Evening” program on “NIS-TV”.
He noted that the OPPOSITION BLOC faction in the Verkhovna Rada had developed the draft Law No. 10059 “On State Support of the Ukrainian Shipbuilding Industry”, intended to reanimate the shipbuilding industry. In particular, it is about a special economic zone “Mykolaiv” and creation of the technopark specializing in shipbuilding in Mykolaiv Oblast. The authors of the draft law are opposition MPs Oleksandr Vilkul, Dmytro Kolesnikov, Kostiantyn Pavlov and Andriy Halchenko.
According to the deputy, in the early 2000s, free economic zones operated on the territory of Mykolaiv, and the shipyards got a “second wind” – Dutch investors came in, and the sphere began to develop. And all this can be repeated now, even with great success. Even now, despite the lack of adequate state support from the current authorities, in March, the Black Sea Shipyard launched a new vessel on the Dutch order.
“The Black Sea Shipyard lowered the tanker with a displacement of 5 thousand tons, about 110 meters in length. I consider this is a great event for Mykolaiv. If at our shipyards except for ship repair, the construction of tankers began, it means that the city of Mykolaiv has all the prospects to return title of the shipbuilding capital. And after the victory of Vilkul and the OPPOSITION BLOC, this will definitely happen,” Ihor Diatlov summed up.
