Presidential candidate, leader of the “Nashi” party, Yevhen Muraiev, announced today, March 7, on the withdrawal of his candidacy from the elections and the support of the presidential candidate from the OPPOSITION BLOC Oleksandr Vilkul.
“I have withdrawn my candidacy in favor of Oleksandr Vilkul. We decided to unite our political forces, and in the near future a unifying congress will take place, which will multiply our influence on political processes. I ask all my supporters to support Oleksandr Vilkul in the upcoming elections. I am confident that we will be able to defeat the current authorities and those satellites who, playing into the hands of Poroshenko, are now imitating the opposition. Let’s unite!” Yevhen Muraiev called.
According to the opposition leader Oleksandr Vilkul, for the country, it is now important to unite all the real opposition forces.
“I am grateful to Yevhen Muraiev for taking a very wise step and uniting with us. I am grateful to all opposition politicians who previously supported me. Unification with Yevhen Muraiev will give a serious impetus and opportunities for our victory. After I become President, I will recommend the candidacy of Yevhen Muraiev to the post of Prime Minister to the Parliament. And I will advocate for him to head our party in the parliamentary elections,” Vilkul stressed.
After the announcement of political support for a single opposition leader, Oleksandr Vilkul and Yevhen Muraiev signed a Declaration on joint actions for the sake of peace and development.
Earlier, the Peace Initiative by Oleksandr Vilkul and his candidacy in the presidential elections were also supported by the head of the “Strong Ukraine” party, Svitlana Fabrykant, the leader of the “Christian Socialists” party, Mykhailo Dobkin, and the deputy head of the “Party of Peace”, Maksym Holdarb.
Answering the question whether the independent candidate Yuriy Boyko will take part in the unification of the opposition forces, Oleksandr Vilkul noted that “Boyko can withdraw his candidacy only in favor of Poroshenko, the employee of whose headquarters he is and for whom he is working”.
According to Vilkul, the unification process covers only the real opposition, rather than people who use oppositional rhetoric and brand of the party, to which they no longer have any relation.
