Negotiations with “Gazprom” on gas supplies to Ukraine can only be conducted with an appropriate mandate. This opinion was expressed by MP Yevhen Muraiev on the “Right to Power” talk show on “1 + 1” TV channel, commenting on the meeting between Viktor Medvedchuk and Yuriy Boyko with Gazprom’s board chairman Oleksiy Miller in St. Petersburg.
“To conduct any negotiations, a mandate is necessary – the right to conduct these negotiations. The funniest thing is that Volodymyr Putin in one of his interviews stated that gas (for Ukraine, - Ed.) would cost twice as cheap. But after the visit of Boyko and Medvedchuk, it turned out that gas would be cheaper for us only by 25%,” the politician recalled.
According to Yevhen Muraiev, gas supplies to Ukraine from Russia - “a favorite topic of Boyko and Firtash.” “Do you remember “RosUkrEnergo” and mediation between Russia and Ukraine in the “gas” issue? I believe that the negotiations should be conducted directly by Naftogaz and Gazprom, bypassing those firms-gaskets that were made in order to leave the margin, which Kobolev and representatives of the Ukrainian power profit from,” Yevhen Muraiev emphasized.
