On March 24, in Kyiv, the radicals carried out a series of attacks on volunteers and campaign tents of the presidential candidate from the OPPOSITION BLOC Oleksandr Vilkul.
According to the victims and eyewitnesses, the mayhem was arranged by a group of radicals of about ten people. They attacked defenseless volunteers, smashed tents, filming everything on video, and then escaped with impunity from the scene.
Most of the attacks occurred in the Solomensky district of the capital: on Chokolovsky Boulevard (near house No. 27); Kosmonavtiv Square (“Silpo” store); 5, Lebedeva-Kumach Street; Povitroflotsky Avenue (in the area of the bus stop “Prosveshcheniya”).
Another attack occurred in the Shevchenko district of the capital. On Dehtyarevska Street, volunteers campaigning for Oleksandr Vilkul were sprayed a mixture of spray in their face. People have got damaged eyes.
All cases of banditry recorded operational-investigative groups of the National Police. The testimonies of witnesses have been collected, protocols have been drawn up, investigation is being conducted.
Recall, this is not the first time that bandits attack volunteers and Vilkul’s tents. On March 19 in Mykolaiv, radical-minded “activists” in masks in broad daylight crushed the campaign tents of the presidential candidate from the OPPOSITION BLOC and broke the leg of a female volunteer.
The Kyiv city election headquarters of the presidential candidate Oleksandr Vilkul appealed to law enforcement agencies to find and punish the attackers to the fullest extent of the law.Such situations on the eve of elections are unacceptable in any country that considers itself developed and democratic. Power attempts to block the election campaign to the only presidential candidate from the opposition should be resolutely stopped in the shortest possible time.
