In the presidential election, Ukrainians should radically change the ruling elite, rather than elect one of the representatives of the current authorities. This was stated by MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Volodymyr Husak on the TV channel “Direct” on Thursday, March 6.
Discussing the problem of vote-buying in the upcoming presidential election, the MP noted that its roots must be sought in the low standard of living of the majority of Ukrainians. “Over the years of independence, Ukrainians have never been as poor as they are now. At the moment, Ukraine is the poorest country in Europe. Half of the families receive subsidies. And this is the fault of the current authorities, which have brought the economy of the country almost to a complete disaster, and the Ukrainians - to impoverishment. The People’s Front, Bloc of Petro Poroshenko and Batkivshchyna, which was also part of the coalition, put their hands to this. It should not be forgotten that in 2014-2015 this political force voted for budgets and laws, which, among other things, took privileges from Chernobyl victims and pensions from working pensioners,” Volodymyr Husak stated.
According to him, due to poverty for many Ukrainians, UAH 200, 500 and 1000, which some political forces offer them for voting at the elections, is big money. “Pro-government political players first brought the country to economic ruin, and now they are fighting with each other and trying to use it — in varying degrees they are building“ grids ”to bribe voters. And it is clear that they want not only to build their network, but also not to let their rival do it. Therefore, we see such competition between the teams of Poroshenko and Tymoshenko,” the opposition politician stressed.
“In this election, Ukraine should choose not between representatives of the current authorities – Poroshenko and Tymoshenko. In essence they are the same, and together they are responsible for the economic catastrophe that has occurred in Ukraine in recent years. It is necessary to change the ruling elite to a professional one, which will develop the country, improve the life of the population, rather than reign on the ruins,” Volodymyr Husak concluded.
