According to the MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Volodymyr Husak, the debate between presidential candidates Petro Poroshenko and Volodymyr Zelensky will in no way affect the results of the second round of elections. He stated this on the “Nash” TV channel on Monday, April 15.
“The discussion about the debates on whether they will take place, when and where they will be held – at the stadium or in the studio of “Public”, reminds me the following situation. The football match ends, and one team wins with a score of 5: 0. And suddenly the other team scores a goal, and then the judges look at the situation, if there was no offside. Yes, the situation is very controversial; everyone is persistently discussing whether the goal was and whether it will be counted. But even if it is scored, the score will be only 5:1, and this will not affect the winner, because it is already obvious,” Volodymyr Husak stated.
The MP emphasized that the OPPOSITION BLOC and voters would like to hear Volodymyr Zelensky’s clear position on important issues for Ukraine. In particular, whether the inappropriate waste of time of the Verkhovna Rada, called “consideration of the language draft law”, which has been lasting for four weeks, will be stopped.
“However, I repeat that the debate will change nothing. And this will not help the current president under any circumstances. It often happens that people in such high positions cannot allow the probability of their loss, even psychologically. Perhaps the current president of Ukraine believes that he still has a chance. But the result is already obvious. Therefore, we all need to prepare for the life of Ukraine after April 21, when the change of power will occur in a normal democratic way in the country”, the opposition leader emphasized.
