One of the opposition leaders required the pro-government coalition to stop ignoring the choice of the Ukrainian people and set a date for the inauguration of the new President.
In particular, during a speech from the rostrum of the Parliament, Oleksandr Vilkul said: “I don’t understand what kind of president Volodymyr Zelensky will be. And no one understands this. However, we must respect the choice of the people and set the date of inauguration.
I personally will vote for the inauguration date May 19. As they say: “There’s no way to make up for lost time.” Leave the country alone and go already.”
Note that the battles in Parliament over the date of the inauguration of the new President have been going on for a long time. Zelensky himself suggested setting an inauguration date for May 19. However, pro-government deputies are in favor of a later date, to prevent dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada.
Recall that the next parliamentary elections in Ukraine should be held October 27, 2019.
