Vilkul filed a draft law on the dismissal of Viatrovych

The oppositionist stressed the need to change not only the President, but also the pro-government team, which provoked conflicts in society to return to normal life in the country.

Oleksandr Vilkul, leader of the OPPOSITION BLOC, wrote on his Facebook page, “To return normal life to the country, it is necessary to change not only the President, but also his team, which provoked conflicts. Among them – Viatrovych. For the dismissal of this odious character who ruined the history of our people who defeated fascism, I submitted a draft Resolution to the parliament.”

Oleksandr Vilkul consistently opposes the rewriting of history and vandalism against monuments. In addition, the oppositionist has repeatedly noted that the names of regions, settlements and streets should be determined by people, rather than the Verkhovna Rada. The oppositionist opposed the renaming of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast to Sicheslavsk without holding a local referendum.

Recall, on April 9, 2015, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a package of laws initiated by the Director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, Volodymyr Viatrovych. After that, Ukraine began to rename streets, cities and regions, demolish monuments, including the Great Patriotic War.

For four years, according to Viatrovych, 52 thousand place names, 987 settlements were renamed; over 2.5 thousand monuments were demolished.
