All children who were forced to leave their places of permanent residence due to a conflict in the East of Ukraine should receive appropriate status. This was stated by MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Victoriia Hryb.
She spoke about the preparation, together with her colleagues, of draft resolution No. 2117, which proposes to simplify the mechanism for granting the status of a child injured as a result of hostilities. “This is a matter of justice! They need to be supported financially, rather than just in words,” the MP said.
According to the politician, the state should provide children who suffered as a result of hostilities with compensation for damage and annually help with their recovery, organize rehabilitation, pay children with disabilities increased monthly financial assistance and provide free meals in schools, allow free travel of such children in transport and guarantee places in kindergartens, regardless of queues.
“The children are not to blame for the war going on in their land. And the state cannot turn a blind eye to these problems. Therefore, the parliament must adopt this draft resolution, and I will make every effort for this resolution to be adopted. I am convinced that the state should meet people who have been suffering from the consequences of the war for more than five years! These are things that the parliament is simply obliged to support!” Victoriia Hryb emphasized.
