If the country’s leadership is interested in the development of Ukraine as an independent project, rather than a field for enriching transnational corporations, then the revival of Donbas will be given maximum support. This was stated in an interview with “Regnum” by Vadym Novynskyi, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee for the Reintegration of Donbas.
“It all depends on several factors. And the first one: how much is the current power in Ukraine interested in developing the country’s industrial potential? Over the past five years, Ukraine has become a cemetery for factories. According to the Ministry of Social Policy, about 8 million Ukrainians are earning money abroad,” Vadym Novynskyi recalled.
He also expressed the opinion that both the state and business should take an active part in the restoration of Donbas.
“We have recently heard the wishes of foreign “friends of Ukraine” regarding the transformation of our country into an “agrarian superpower”. But Donbas is the locomotive of the Ukrainian economy, the flagship of industrial production. And I am sure, it is from Donbas that the economic revival of Ukraine will begin. We, as representatives of business, naturally, will actively participate in this process, but coordinated work of business and the state is necessary,” the MP added.
