MP, member of the Parliamentary Committee on Health Care Tetiana Bakhteieva criticized the activity of Uliana Suprun at the post of the acting Minister of Health. According to the oppositionist, Suprun does not conduct collegiums of the Ministry of Health, does not come to the meetings of the relevant Committee of the Parliament, and does not visit the regions. However, with great pleasure she travels around the “abroad”, demonstrating the pretentious successes of her “reforms” to foreign curators.
“Despite the huge number of comments to the work of the team of the Ministry of Health, Suprun ignores not only MPs, but also the local medical workers. Not without reason, she simply does not have answers to many questions concerning her “reforms”, Tetiana Bakhteieva considers.
According to her, in view of the catastrophic situation in healthcare, the Ukrainian Minister should be in the country and promptly eliminate her mistakes, the price of which is the health and lives of Ukrainians. Thus, Ukraine ranked first in Europe for the incidence of measles – from the beginning of 2019 about 50 thousand people have become ill with measles, more than 26 thousand of them are children. This problem of national scale is simply ignored by the Ministry of Health.
“Uliana Suprun does not want to solve the pressing problems of the Ukrainians. She has chosen a different path. Immediately after the inauguration of the new President the acting Minister of Health left Ukraine for Geneva for the Medical Assembly. Obviously, foreign voyages are more pleasant for Suprun than establishing order in the Ukrainian healthcare,” the oppositionist emphasized.
According to the MP, traveling around to foreign countries the acting Minister of Health and her unprofessional team, together with the “grantees” also profit from the Ukrainians. “The taxpayers’ money, in the amount of about UAH 20 billion, lies on the accounts of international purchasing organizations, while in the Ukrainian hospitals there are no elementary medicines. Doctors and nurses do not have decent salaries, so they leave the country en masse,” the politician emphasized.
Tetiana Bakhteieva urged the new power to eliminate pseudo-reform of Suprun, to provide state medical programs with 100% financing, as well as urgently introduce insurance medicine.
“Today, because of pseudo-reforms, the Ukrainians cannot see a doctor and be examined for several days, laboratory tests are all paid, ambulance is being destroyed, etc. The team of the Ministry of Health must be urgently replaced with a Ukrainian one, professional and responsible to the Ukrainian people,” the MP emphasized.
