Tetiana Bakhteieva: The “Affordable Drugs” program in practice turned out to be inaccessible for Ukrainians

The “Affordable Drugs” program almost does not work, as the owners of the pharmaceutical business have no incentive to participate in it. This was stated by MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC, member of the Parliamentary Committee on Health Tatyana Bakhteeva.

The MP noted that the majority of Ukrainians are not able to use the “Affordable Drugs” program. “In large cities, from the list of pharmacies that are listed on the website of the Ministry of Health, only units actually participate in the program. The villages and small towns were almost not involved in the program,” Tetiana Bakhteieva wrote on her Facebook page.

The oppositionist is confident that one of the main reasons for the failure of the “Affordable Drugs” program is the lack of incentive for the owners of the pharmaceutical business to participate in it. After all, pharmacies must buy medicines for their money, sell them almost without profit, process and hand over prescriptions, and there are no guarantees for a refund.

Tetiana Bakhteieva also focused on the fact that a clear indicator of the program’s fictitiousness is the lack of prescriptions for medications, as well as the drugs in pharmacies. “In hospitals, patients are forced to stand in long lines to therapists who write out “special prescriptions” for drugs of limited duration. People also complain that there is a shortage of necessary drugs in pharmacies, they have to call and travel all over the city. People are forced to buy medicines for their money, and this is despite the fact that over the past five years, the prices of some medicines have increased significantly,” she emphasized.

The opposition politician is confident that the situation with the lack of availability of drugs is beneficial to the pharmaceutical mafia, which with the tacit consent of the Ministry of Healthcare supplies to Ukraine low-quality drugs with a limited shelf life. According to her, Only “grantees”, who receive money for public relations of the medical pseudoreform, support the false statements of the Ministry of Health management about the working program “Available medicines.

Tetiana Bakhteieva stressed that the irresponsible policy of the non-professional team of the Ministry of Health led to the fact that the affordable drugs program necessary for people failed in Ukraine, because now the drugs are being sold at inflated prices, while they are of dubious quality.
