Tetiana Bakhteieva: The state is obliged to support the Ukrainians as much as possible, whose lives were broken by the war

According to recent sociological studies of the International Organization for Migration, only 12% of internally displaced persons (IDPs) have their own housing. At the same time, the total amount of the allowance allocated to the family of IDPs does not exceed UAH 3 000. Ukrainians who have lost everything because of the war should receive special care of the state. The authorities are obliged, finally, to turn to face the IDPs and give them everything they need for life. The former MP Tetiana Bakhteieva wrote about this on her page on Facebook.

According to her, most IDPs rent apartments or live with relatives and in community centers. With the funds allocated by the state, it is impossible not only to purchase own housing, but even to rent it.

In addition, Ukrainian citizens who become IDPs die from a lack of drugs, exacerbation of chronic diseases and severe psychological trauma.

“Young couples of IDPs rarely think about the birth of a child. They have one question: how to survive and not die of hunger. This state of affairs significantly affects the already catastrophic demographic situation in Ukraine,” Tetiana Bakhteieva noted.

She emphasized that in the circumstances, the government was obliged to turn to face the IDPs.

“Citizens of Ukraine, who have lost everything due to the war, should receive not just the volume of medical assistance and social protection guaranteed by the Constitution, but special care of the state! Ukraine needs peace!” the MP concluded.
