MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Kostiantyn Pavlov called on the Minister of Internal Affairs to return to Kryvyi Rih battle banners of military units that liberated the city from the Nazis.
Kostiantyn Pavlov said that in 2018 in Kryvyi Rih, after ceremonial events in honor of the Day of the liberation of the city from the Nazi invaders, under the far-fetched pretext, the real battle banners of the units liberating the city from the Nazis had been removed from the local history museum and taken to an unknown destination.
“These banners are a sacred relic for hundreds of thousands of Kryvyi Rih residents –the soldiers-liberators and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Despite the tantrums of obscurantists like Viatrovych, these banners were proudly carried by the heroes-guardsmen of our part of the National Guard of Ukraine 3011 during city celebrations, that part, whose fighters perform their duty in the ATO zone and protect Ukraine from the first days,” the oppositionist said. “Therefore, we demand these historical relics — the battle banners of the units that fought for our land and liberated not only Kryvyi Rih, but also many other cities of Ukraine — to be immediately returned to the Kryvyi Rih residents!” Kostiantyn Pavlov noted.
According to him, the OPPOSITION BLOC will not let erase the people’s feat on the road to Victory. “In a few days, millions of Ukrainians will celebrate Victory Day over Nazism in World War II. Informally, in the popular way – it is Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, May 9! This holiday really brings together millions of people across the country, combines different generations, because it is a celebration of the people-winner and ours – the descendants of the victors over Nazism! In recent years, there has been an attempt to silence, but also to erase from the memory, to replace concepts, to rewrite the history of not only this holiday, but also the feat of the people. It did not work and will not work! On May 9, we will pass with the March of Peace – March of the descendants of the winners with the whole country, in the cities of Ukraine,” Pavlov noted.
