The OPPOSITION BLOC demands to consider the draft law on temporary investigative commissions and to adopt the Electoral Code

“We all need state pragmatism, rather than flirting with foreign “friends”, stated Vadym Novynskyi, head of the OPPOSITION BLOC, during the Conciliation Board on Monday, June 3.

Addressing the leaders of political factions, Vadym Novynskyi emphasized an obvious fact – every day of the election campaign, the effectiveness of the work of the Verkhovna Rada only decreases.

“This week we have a chance to start discussing really important documents – the draft law on temporary investigative commissions and adoption of the Electoral Code in the second reading,” the oppositionist called for effective work of parliamentarians.

According to him, the OPPOSITION BLOC faction has repeatedly insisted on the importance and necessity of adopting these laws. Since without the adoption of the Law on Temporary Investigation Commissions, the Verkhovna Rada will not be able to fully coordinate the consideration of socially important cases and give them its own objective assessment.

Most importantly, according to Vadym Novynskyi, the reason for such a long sabotage by the parliament to consider this draft law is the inability to run the procedure of impeachment of the President without temporary investigative commissions. “The Verkhovna Rada is obliged to have such an instrument of public control and control of the President of the country,” the head of the opposition faction emphasized.

The Electoral Code, in his view, can be the main achievement of the work of the current Verkhovna Rada. “Thanks to this decision, the current Verkhovna Rada is able to enter in history, like the Verkhovna Rada of the second convocation entered its history due to the adopted Constitution,” Vadym Novynskyi summarized.
