Zaporizhzhia hosted events dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the victory over fascism. Oppositionists Ihor Chumachenko, Yaroslav Kryl, Victor Busko, Liudmyla Liubym, Andriy Kryvtsov, Nina Gurska, Liudmila Kruhla, Pavlo Mykhailyk, Mykola Silin congratulated the veterans, combatants and children of the war on this great holiday.
“May 9 is a holy holiday, when people rejoice, but at the same time cry. I want us to cry as little as possible on such days and experience only the feeling of deepest gratitude to everyone who allowed us to live under a peaceful sky. Happy Victory Day, happy holiday to all who defended the country from the enemy, who restored cities from the ruins! Thanks to you, we are now in a country in which we want to live! I wish all of us peace in Ukraine!” Liudmyla Liubym, a deputy of the regional council, addressed to the veterans.
At the solemn meeting near the memorial “Crossing” an orchestra played, songs of military years sounded. The “Crossing” is a special monument for Zaporizhzhia. It was at this place in the distant 1943 that the forcing of the Dnieper took place, during which our troops occupied a bridgehead in the area of the villages of Bilenke and Razumovka.
