Kostyantyn Pavlov: Assistance to families where children with disabilities are raised should become an obligatory component of social state programs

The lack of clearly defined social programs at the state level to support vulnerable groups of the population is a problem that will be solved after the change of power. This was stated by MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Kostyantyn Pavlov on the basis of meetings with representatives of public organizations of Kryvyi Rih, uniting children with disabilities.

According to the MP, effective assistance to families where children with disabilities are brought up should be a mandatory component of social programs.

Kostyantyn Pavlov noted that in the absence of assistance from the state, the problems of vulnerable categories are forced to be solved by local authorities. “For example, despite all the difficulties, in Kryvyi Rih the range and size of various types of assistance is expanding, which is provided at the expense of the city budget. This year, the Social Protection Program provides payment of assistance in the amount of UAH 5 000 to each such child for all families in which children with disabilities are brought up,” the politician said.

According to him, in previous years, such assistance was paid only to single mothers in the amount of UAH 500 per family.

“However, if our city shows a lot of concern to fellow countrymen of a particularly vulnerable category, then at the state level there is no main thing – clearly written out and executing social support programs. This approach is not allowed. We will change this after winning the elections. Reliable social protection of every citizen of Ukraine, including especially vulnerable categories, is among the priority steps of the program of presidential candidate Oleksandr Vilkul,” Kostyantyn Pavlov stressed.
