The most painful issue for Ukrainians now is excessive tariffs for utility services, rather than the electoral system. MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC, Kostiantyn Pavlov said this, speaking from the parliamentary rostrum.
“Today, wages in Ukraine are the lowest in Europe, and tariffs in the most painful way hit the budget. Compare the average cost of tariffs in Germany - $ 243, the UK - $ 186, Austria - $ 188, Denmark - $ 184, Croatia - $ 182, Poland - $ 170, France - $ 150, Ukraine - $ 101. The average salary in Kyiv is $ 243, Warsaw - $ 1551, Paris - $ 2508, Berlin - $ 2,520, London - $ 2,886,” the oppositionist led the statistics.
According to him, Ukrainians spend on the payment of housing and communal services 22% and higher of their monthly income, and the Europeans - from 6% to 10%.
Kostiantyn Pavlov called on the head of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy to put on the session’s agenda a draft resolution of OPPOSITION BLOC No. 9265 on a moratorium on raising utility tariffs and sending all natural gas produced in Ukraine to the needs of the population with recalculation in the direction of lowering its price. The draft resolution was signed by the MPs of all factions of parliament, except for the coalition.
“We, dear MPs, took the oath to the Ukrainian people, not the International Monetary Fund, therefore we are obliged to do everything to facilitate the tariff load for Ukrainian citizens. Let’s do something for people at last,” Kostiantyn Pavlov emphasized.
