Parliament’s adoption of Resolution No 9186, submitted by Oleksandr Vilkul and other MPs from the OPPOSITION BLOC, will return to 2 million families the right to receive a subsidy, which the authorities took away in 2018. In particular, the regulations adopted by the Cabinet, which significantly cut the right of people to receive subsidies, should be abolished.
Recall, to reduce the number of recipients of subsidies, the government decided to automatically enter the income in the amount of UAH 5763 UAH (3 minimum wages) for people who in fact have no income. Thus, people and their family members who lost jobs and income due to the crisis have also been deprived of the right to receive subsidies.
In addition, the draft resolution stipulates that there should be excluded such regulations: the subsidies are not relied on if there is a debt on utilities exceeding the amount of UAH 314, and if one of the family members has been abroad for more than 60 days. The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers that only those with cars older than five years can count on subsidies should also be abolished.
According to the State Statistics Service, in 2018, as a result of the anti-human decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, 2 million families lost subsidies. While for the rest, subsidies were reduced by almost 30%.
Vilkul’s resolution may take effect, and people will be eligible for subsidies if the Verkhovna Rada votes for it.
In addition, Vilkul demanded the government to provide an automatic unconditional right to receive subsidies for cancer patients, people with disabilities, families with children with cerebral palsy, etc., as well as a number of categories of poor people.
“We have achieved a real chance to force the government to return the subsidies to people who have lost them. In general, monetization, subsidies, benefits is the manipulation and cynical deception of people. We are systematically in favor of reducing tariffs on housing and communal services to economically justified. Support of the economy and industry should provide people with decent wages and pensions. Then the subsidies will not be needed, and communal debts will stop accumulating. However, the current authorities will not reduce tariffs. After rebooting the authorities, we will do it. And now the victory is to force the government to return the right to receive subsidies to people,” Oleksandr Vilkul emphasized.
