The speech of Ihor Shurma in the Verkhovna Rada devoted to the events of May 2, 2014 in Odesa, was disrupted

The Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Oksana Syroid, disrupted the speech of the MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC, Ihor Shurma. The politician required the law enforcement agencies to finally complete an investigation of the tragedy of May 2, 2014 in Odesa. He drew attention to the fact that those responsible for the killings of people had not yet been brought to justice. Oksana Syroid called the performance of Shurma “inciting inter-ethnic hatred” and turned off the microphone several times.

From the rostrum of the parliament, the oppositionist emphasized the inadmissibility of tragedies in the twenty-first century, similar to those that occurred on the Maidan, in Odesa and in the Donbas.

“It is necessary to punish all those who killed, who allowed such tragedies. If it is necessary to create investigative commissions – let’s create them. Regardless of people’s views, we have no right to bring the situation to the brutality. Until we learn to be merciful, tolerant, to seek a compromise, we will all be split. We will not be respected, and we will be on the periphery of the civilized world, the European community,” he stressed.

Ihor Shurma was forced to finish his speech with the microphone turned off.
