The state finances only the military budget, completely forgetting about education and medicine, - Vadym Novynskyi

“State expenditure to the military and defence capability of the country accounts for 5% of GDP in the budget of Ukraine, but after all, education and medicine are also defence capability. They are either financed as a residual, or we are building an exclusively police state.” Vadym Novynskyi, head of the OPPOSITION BLOC parliamentary faction, said during a conversation with the residents of Odesa.

The politician noted that any reform in any field should lead to improvement. Then, medical reform should have been aimed at improving the quality of medical services and their accessibility. And in fact it has led to the violation of the Constitution of Ukraine, which guarantees free medical services to Ukrainians.

As for the pension reform, basically, it only increased the retirement age. “Does it somehow improve the life of pensioners? Instead of one-time increases in pension payments, it is necessary to index them in accordance with the law, as was the case until 2014,” Vadym Novynskyi emphasized.

According to him, it is necessary to carry out a legal indexation taking into account the rate of increase in utility tariffs, the rise in price of all services, the rise in prices for medicines and food, rather than help pensioners to survive.

“Education reform has the same disastrous result, Vadym Novynskyi stated, improving the education system to world standards should be its goal. After all, we once had the education system, thanks to which the names of scientists and great researchers of world importance appeared! And now it is difficult for an employer to find in Ukraine a specialized technical specialist in a shipbuilding or metallurgical industry. Unfortunately, the education of our children is kept only because of the patriotism and dedication of teachers, who have long deserved a fair wage system.”
