On May 27, at the solemn ceremony of the “Stars of the Hockey Year”, the Borys Kolesnikov Foundation presented certificates for UAH 50,000, 25,000 and 15,000 to the winners of the competition for the best logo for the new HC “Mariupol”.
The contest lasted a month, 650 people took part in it. The winners of the creative competition are Andriy Dehtiar and Artem Novokhatskyi from Kharkiv and Bohdan Zabuga from Kyiv. They attended the ceremony of awarding the best players and managers of the 2018-2019 season. The “Stars of the Hockey Year” from the Ukrainian Hockey League, which was held in Kyiv, received deserved awards from the hands of the director of the charity foundation.
Sofia Mudryk addressed from the stage with words of gratitude to the winners of the competition, in particular, expressed confidence that the new HC “Mariupol” would soon receive not only the company logo, but the love of hockey fans. “The logo is a symbol of the team, that’s why we decided to start the history of the HC “Mariupol” with such an interesting competition. Contestants actively sent their works, shared ideas and wishes. We saw the hockey enthusiasm of many people. It is nice that many residents of Mariupol have joined our initiative, because a modern hockey arena is being built there and a new club will be created soon. The competition showed great support for the hockey club among Mariupol residents and future fans,” noted Sofia Mudryk, director of the Foundation.
In December 2018, construction of a large-scale sports complex began in Mariupol. The ice arena, a gift to the city from the Borys Kolesnikov Foundation, will become a sports base for the HC “Mariupol”, as well as a training place for young hockey players and figure skaters. The winners of the competition say – the project of the Foundation attracted creative youth, gave a chance to demonstrate their abilities and incentive to compete in creativity and originality.
“My father told me about the Foundation’s competition; he always monitors sports news. I design, so I decided to apply my professional skills. The concept of my logo is as follows: the brand of Mariupol is an anchor. I decided to use it as the main element. With regard to hockey, the anchor does not pull to the bottom, but on the contrary, gives stability and allows achieving a stable result. The idea of the logo: stability, confidence, reliability! I wish the players of the HC “Mariupol” to be not only a sports team, but also a hockey family, confidently move forward to victories!” said the winner of the competition, Bohdan Zabuga.
Recall, the Borys Kolesnikov Charitable Foundation has been implementing educational, sports, creative projects, competitions and programs for young people for ten years, the purpose of which is to educate a new generation of technical specialists and the sports elite of Ukraine.
