Dmytro Shentsev: We will abolish all anti-popular decisions of the current authorities

The abolition by the Constitutional Court of a decision on the establishment of the minimum necessary age for calculating pensions for long service is another victory of the opposition over the antisocial reforms of the outgoing authorities. This was stated by MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Dmytro Shentsev.

“The Constitutional Court considered the appeal filed by us with our colleagues of the faction, and overturned the decision on the establishment of the minimum necessary age for calculating pensions for long service. This is a victory over the most antisocial innovation of the pension reform of the authorities,” the politician said.

By this decision, the Constitutional Court recognized the contradiction of this item of the pension reform of human rights to social protection. The Court returned pre-reform norms for those professional categories that are entitled to a preferential pension. These are categories of citizens engaged in work, the performance of which leads to the loss of professional working ability before the age of entitlement to the retirement age. In addition, the Constitutional Court concluded that a five-year increase in the retirement age for women was also antisocial.

According to Dmytro Shentsev, the draft law “On Pension Security”, which restores the rights of certain categories of citizens to retire for long service, has already been registered in parliament.

“We will seek its early consideration. Step by step – we do everything necessary to abolish anti-popular decisions of the current authorities,” Dmytro Shentsev noted.
