That is how the MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Dmytro Shentsev commented on the victory of Volodymyr Zelensky in the first round of the presidential election to the “GorodX” edition.
“The result of Volodymyr Zelensky is a protest vote. This is evidence that people are tired of war, poverty, the same people among the leaders of the state. Fascinated by the division of powers, almost all of them have already forgotten about the interests of the people. Disappointment and mistrust of the majority of presidential candidates united Ukrainians in an effort to see a completely new person as head of State,” the oppositionist said.
According to him, for five years, Petro Poroshenko has lost all credibility, which Ukrainians gave him in 2014. After all, at that time he scored almost 55% of the vote, now – almost 16%. That is, 80% of voters who supported Poroshenko in 2014, no longer believe him.
“The failure to fulfill promises, about which he loudly declared on the eve and after the victory, the tariffs increased by several times, the impoverishment of people, the division of the country according to linguistic and religious principles – this all led to the fact that Ukrainians are disappointed in a person who they implicitly trusted five years ago,” Dmytro Shentsev emphasized.
