Over the past five years, Ukraine has acquired threatening wage arrears. In 2014, the debt throughout the country amounted to UAH 753 million, and as of April 1, 2019, according to the State Statistics Service, it was already over UAH 2.463 billion. In the view of Dmytro Kolesnikov, MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC, this is a direct consequence of the five-year deep crisis in the economy and industrial policy.
“For five years we have been promised to turn the country into one of the leading ones, for five years we have been shown how to govern the country and how to “live in a new way”. As a result, the illiterate use of industrial policy tools has led to serious miscalculations and crisis phenomena in the financial and economic sphere. Many enterprises have gone bankrupt, the state has lost competitive industrial products, thousands of jobs have been reduced, and the amount of wage arrears for workers and already laid-off workers has increased,” Dmytro Kolesnikov stated.
According to him, the problem of wage arrears affects the vast majority of Ukrainians. Because of this, a record level of unemployment is formed in our country.
Today, neither the government nor the leadership of the country has any special ideas how to withdraw Ukraine from the financial and economic crisis. There is no anti-crisis program to bring the industry out of crisis and improve the welfare of the population, the MP said.
“Anti-crisis management requires the presence of experienced anti-crisis managers in the government. They are in the OPPOSITION BLOC team. And after the elections, when the current mediocre power is finally a thing of the past, we will be able to start restoring the economy and industry of Ukraine,” Dmytro Kolesnikov emphasized.
