The Verkhovna Rada voted on Draft Resolution No. 2092, which amended the Resolution “On the Election of Chairmen, First Vice-Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen, Secretaries, Members of Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 9th Convocation”. According to the Resolution, MPs from the OPPOSITION BLOC Vadym Novynskyi, Victoria Hryb and Dmytro Shpenov have become members of the relevant parliamentary committees.
So, Vadym Novynskyi has become a member of the Committee on Human Rights, De-Occupation and Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk, Luhansk Regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations. Victoria Hryb has become a member of the Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services. Dmytro Shpenov has become a member of the Committee on Legal Policy.
According to Vadym Novynskyi, the Committee on De-Occupation and Reintegration is key in the current composition of the parliament, therefore, he filled an application for joining it. “In my view, the issue of restoring peace in Ukraine, reintegrating the temporarily occupied territories is the most crucial for our country. And I’ve been working in this direction for several years, consistently advocating for peace on the basis of a healthy compromise that does not infringe on the national interests of Ukraine,” the politician said.
According to him, the future of Ukraine will largely depend on the legislative initiatives of the Donbass Reintegration Committee.
“It should be the main platform for discussions in the Verkhovna Rada on ways to restore peace in Ukraine, and I would like all the MPs and members of this Committee to understand this. It should be a place where the parliament will work out professional solutions to achieve our main goal – peace and unity of Ukraine, rather than a PR platform for individual political forces,” the MP emphasized.
Recall, on August 29 during the voting for the Resolution “On the Election of Chairmen, First Vice-Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen, Secretaries, Members of Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 9th Convocation”, MPs from the OPPOSITION BLOC for an unknown reason were not included in the parliamentary committees, although all the necessary statements were filed within the statutory deadline. After that, the parliamentarians turned to the leadership of the parliament and the Rules of Procedure Committee with a request to review their applications again.
