Members of the district commission No. 139 violated the electoral law, not including representatives of Oleksandr Vilkul in the composition of 23 commissions

On March 11, without notice and warning, members of the district commission for the district No. 139, for unclear and undisclosed reasons, did not include representatives of the presidential candidate from the OPPOSITION BLOC Oleksandr Vilkul to the composition of election commissions in the period and procedure established by electoral legislation. This affected areas No. 510499-510520, 511443, located on the territory of the Limansky district of Odesa Oblast. The incident became the basis for court proceedings, initiated by Svitlana Fabrykant, a trustee of Oleksandr Vilkul.

She appealed to the Odesa Regional Administrative Court, which left the complaint without consideration. After that, the representative of the interests of the candidate was forced to appeal to the Court of Appeal.

On March 19, the Fifth Administrative Court of Appeal upheld the appeal filed by Svitlana Fabrykant and returned the case for due consideration at first instance.

“The authorities, by hook or by crook, are trying to prevent representatives of the OPPOSITION BLOC to complete work at the polling stations to make it easier to calculate the result necessary for Poroshenko. Both we and they know the real ratings of the “guarantor” and the high level of support for Vilkul among the population. Understanding that it will be necessary to be responsible for their actions and, possibly, in court, the authorities use any, even “illegal” opportunity, only to prolong their agony. Today we’ve said a legal “Stop” to arbitrariness of judges, and on March 31 the whole country will say the political “Stop” to the current criminal authorities,” Svitlana Fabrykant stated.

Observers from the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations - ENEMO attending the appeal hearing expressed concern about the events at the 139th district and agreed with the opposition on joint monitoring of possible violations during the presidential elections in Ukraine on March 31.

“The authorities wanted to fully control one of the most populated districts of Odesa Oblast. They couldn’t make it! Our victory is a clear signal to the falsifiers. Where we are put obstacles, we will be a hundred times more vigilant, a thousand times more united. And we warn all schemers: criminal liability will follow violations during the electoral process. We will protect every vote of our voters,” Svitlana Fabrykant summarized.
