The Minsk agreements remain the basis for peace in the East. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Opposition Government Borys Kolesnikov in an interview with the newspaper “Segonya”.
“If we are talking about peace, that is, Minsk-2.” This is the basis. It is possible to argue, to take an hourly map, but in Minsk the working group should be headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs from the new authorities. Then this is an argument. And, of course, the summit meeting will also be an argument,” Borys Kolesnikov noted.
According to the oppositionist, it is necessary to agree on steps towards each other without waiting for the meeting in the Minsk format. “Even before Minsk, it is possible, for example, to resume direct flights. Why can’t airplanes fly now while the trains go? There is no logic in it. Therefore, for millions of ordinary citizens of our country, this would be the first step,” the Prime Minister of the Opposition Government told.
The second step, according to Borys Kolesnikov, should be the lifting of the economic blockade. “This blockade is a shame of Ukraine. In our country, people like to give an example of the Great Patriotic War in this matter. But, firstly, this is not a very good example, and secondly, in a warlike mood, it was necessary to introduce martial law, a complete evacuation, starting from Slavyansk, to provide employment and housing for all those who wanted to evacuate. That train left a long time ago. If the new authorities build their concept of Ukraine’s development on pragmatism, they will succeed,” Borys Kolesnikov emphasized.
