Petro Poroshenko has passed to the second round of elections solely due to the fact that Yuriy Boyko split the opposition in November last year. This opinion was expressed by the Chairman of the Political Council of the OPPOSITION BLOC, the Prime Minister of the Opposition Government, Borys Kolesnikov, in an interview with the “Interfax-Ukraine” agency.
According to him, the result of Oleksandr Vilkul at the presidential elections is a consequence of the split of the opposition. “I believe that the result of Oleksandr Vilkul is due to the fact that Boyko led Poroshenko by the hand in the second round. He deliberately, at the request of the authorities, split the opposition on November 9, did not allow the OPPOSITION BLOC to hold a congress, and fled to “Platform” (“Opposition Platform – For Life” political force - Ed.), the Prime Minister of the Opposition Government said.
In confirmation of his words, Borys Kolesnikov reminded about Boyko’s flight to the Russian Federation on the direct route Kyiv-Moscow, which is impossible without the personal permission of the President of Ukraine. “And the ridiculous negotiations on the price of gas 10 days before the end of the heating season are the direct support of Petro Poroshenko. This led to the fact that Boyko received more votes, Vilkul – less. Therefore, Poroshenko’s passing to the second round is a direct achievement of Yuriy Boyko. Everything else is a fairy tale of the Viennese forest,” the oppositionist noted.
According to Borys Kolesnikov, the OPPOSITION BLOC will draw conclusions based on the results of Oleksandr Vilkul at the presidential elections. “The OPPOSITION BLOC is the party of peace and development. Literally the name has a meaning. We will evaluate the situation and draw the right conclusions. We know the way to victory and we will definitely achieve it,” the Chairman of the Political Council of the party emphasized.
