Artur Martovytskyi: People who risked their lives and health for our peaceful future deserve a decent old age

MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Artur Martovytskyi stressed that the state should take care of veterans who defended Ukraine in a terrible war against Nazism. However, the current authorities exclude themselves from solving their pressing issues.

He noted that today 34 participants in the hostilities of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 live in Pavlohrad, and 54 - in the entire Western Donbas. Until May 9, the oppositionists exactly will visit and congratulate each of them.

“Every meeting with veterans of the Second World War is special for me. By tradition, on the eve of the Great Victory Day, my team and I come to visit them with gifts, flowers and thanks. It is a great honor for us. I am glad to see that the veterans are waiting for our arrival, they meet with a smile, eagerly communicate and share memories of that terrible war,” Artur Martovytskyi said.

In addition, according to the MP, veterans also talk during meetings about painful problems that they face every day.

“Two of them, for example, said that they spend most of their pensions on house sitters, without whom they cannot do. And they ask this amount to be compensated from the state budget. After all, there is almost no money left for food and medicine. I will address this issue and will do my best to help them. I believe that people who risked their lives and health for the sake of our peaceful future deserve a decent old age and a special relationship from the state! Low bow to all veterans of the Second World War! Eternal memory to those who died at the front and moved on to another world!” the opposition politician concluded.
