23 February marks the third anniversary of the project of the Constitution of Ukraine presented by the Opposition government under the leadership of Borys Kolesnikov. This statement was made by Oleksiy Belyy, the Opposition Bloc MP.
The politician stated that unlike most of Ukrainian politicians who are exploiting the idea of amendments to the constitution as a pre-electoral manipulation technology, the Constitution of the Opposition government presented by Borys Kolesnikov is not a passing fad but an actual roadmap towards a successful state.
«Decentralization is fundamentally important for the success. It stands for the major transition of financial resources and governmental authority to local governments. National defense, security, foreign policy and national infrastructural projects remain within the authority of the central government. The innovations presented by this project include the vision of Ukraine as the parliamentary republic, the parliament comprised of two houses, the decrease in the number of deputies and much more», - Oleksiy Belyy wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him the project of the Constitution presented by Borys Kolesnikov made a powerful promotion for the ideas of decentralization. «This is clear route towards the future of Ukraine as the European democracy. And it is a bitter-sweet feeling to witness numerous candidates for President openly stealing Kolesnikov’s ideas without ever crediting their source», - Oleksiy Belyy stated.
