At the start of its activity, the new parliament should approve a clear work plan for adopting draft laws, necessary for people and the economy. The deputy head of the OPPOSITION BLOC faction Oleksandr Vilkul said about it, speaking at the Conciliation Board of the heads of parliamentary factions.
“We are obliged to do this because, according to the Constitution, Ukraine is a social state. According to the OPPOSITION BLOC, the Constitutional Court has already recognized the abolition of benefits to Chernobyl victims and veterans illegal. We will continue to fight the genocidal reforms of the previous power,” Vilkul noted.
According to the oppositionist, the fear of the current pro-government parties not to get into the parliament according to the party lists did not allow to adopt the laws that society demanded. “At that time, when enterprises were being closed when millions of Ukrainians were forced to go abroad to feed their families, when people could not pay the enormously high tariffs, the Verkhovna Rada considered renaming cities, split society with issues of language, faith and history. These five years will be included in the textbook of political history as an example of how parliament should not work,” Oleksandr Vilkul emphasized. According to him, that is why constructive political forces now need to focus on the strategic objectives of the new Verkhovna Rada.
“It is necessary to put aside party flags. For those who really want to bring the country out of the crisis, and people from poverty, one flag is the state flag. We urge everyone to work constructively. And the OPPOSITION BLOC has the plan of such legislative work, consisting of draft laws on issues aimed at protecting people and supporting the economy,” Oleksandr Vilkul concluded.
