Oleksandr Vilkul requested new electoral legislation, impeachment law and laws under the Minsk agreements

“We supported and always support proportional system with open lists. If this issue is put on the agenda, we are ready to work. Four thousand amendments can be passed – when the Verkhovna Rada wanted, they were passed faster,” said Oleksandr Vilkul, one of the leaders of the OPPOSITION BLOC, during the meeting of the Conciliation Board of the heads of parliamentary factions.

As for the draft law on the impeachment of the President, the MP noted that the opposition faction would consider its final version and then decide on it. “But I think that immunity should be removed from the President simultaneously with the lifting of immunity from MPs and judges. It is also necessary to consider and adopt a law on temporary investigative commissions, on deposing MPs and on deposing mayors. These are priority actions that the parliament should take now,” the opposition leader stressed.

Vilkul reminded the heads of the factions that for the implementation of the Minsk agreements the OPPOSITION BLOC had developed and submitted 11 draft laws to the Parliament of Ukraine. Unfortunately, these draft laws have not been considered for three years. “We demand to bring them to the session hall for voting. Peace, reduction of utility tariffs, the fight against corruption, along with the lifting of immunity from the President, MPs and judges – this is what people need,” the deputy head of the OPPOSITION BLOC faction concluded.
