Oleksandr Vilkul: People turned the page of the history of Ukraine

Poroshenko’s leaving is a chance to restore Ukraine, return a decent life to people and unite the country. The next step after changing the president is the election of a new parliament,” said Oleksandr Vilkul, MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC, commenting on the results of the second round of presidential elections.

“People turned the page of the history of Ukraine. Poroshenko is in the past. And thank God. The future depends on us,” Vilkul wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, more than 70% voted not just for changing the president: “This rating is not of a specific surname “Zelensky”. This is the number of Ukrainians who oppose the war, high tariffs, the destruction of the economy, as well as external governance,” the oppositionist stated.

According to Vilkul, a wave of euphoria because of Poroshenko’s leaving will go, serious work lies ahead.

“What will happen next? Shuffling of security officials, heads of regions, etc. This is inevitable. This will be added by a steady stream of dirt from those who are outgoing, betrayals and “dress-up in the air” from members of the former President’s team (this is already underway),” the opposition member wrote.

Vilkul added that Poroshenko’s leaving is a chance to restore Ukraine, return a decent life to people and unite the country. “The president will not do this himself. Changing of parliament is necessary. Those who, for the sake of political conjuncture, split society with issues of language and faith, who voted for raising tariffs, who supported the destruction of medicine and education, and who, along with Poroshenko, robbed the army, must leave. Our next task is driving them out,” the MP wrote.

“And now we must not let them finally destroy the country. We will do it. I believe in us regardless of the colors of the party flags. We have one flag – the flag of Ukraine,” Vilkul emphasized.
