Oleksandr Dolzhenkov: Instead of developing domestic production, the current authorities import products from Western countries

The pseudo-reform of the current authorities caused the collapse of the Ukrainian economy. Instead of developing domestic production, current officials “invest” Ukrainian funds in the import of products from Western countries. This was stated by MP from the OPPOSITION BLOC Oleksandr Dolzhenkov from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday, March 13.

According to the MP, Ukraine has never seen such a large-scale corruption, such “bloody” money. “I don’t want to say that earlier the authorities were holy, however, they did not earn money “on blood” from the war. If this continues for another five years, we can lose the whole Ukraine,” the oppositionist warned.

Oleksandr Dolzhenkov noted that instead of investing money in the domestic economy, the current authorities import products from Western countries. “We buy French helicopters, American diesel locomotives, although we have domestic production. Not a single aircraft was produced in Ukraine for three years. Even in 2018, we imported coal for three billion dollars, and our miners do not see wages for months,” he said.

The opposition politician is outraged that the continuous eloquent statements of the authorities on the termination of trade relations with the Russian Federation contradict its real actions and only cause billions of dollars in losses to the country’s economy. “Ukraine buys the same Russian gas, but three times more expensive through European intermediaries – Germany and Switzerland. Our citizens are paying for this – the rates for housing and communal services are constantly growing. Stop splitting Ukrainian society with a language issue, that’s enough to manipulate them in the interests of presidential candidates. The parliament and the government in general need to deal with the real problems of Ukraine, first of all with the economic ones,” Oleksandr Dolzhenkov stressed.
